The day itself doesn’t need to be chaotic. A few simple steps will help everything flow efficiently.
Clear the Pathways
Before the team arrives, make sure all hallways, doorways, and staircases are clear. Removing obstacles speeds up the process and – more importantly – reduces the risk of anyone tripping or items getting damaged.
Keep Keys and Important Items Close
Don’t let your keys, documents, or valuables get packed away by mistake. Keep them on your person or in a clearly separate bag. This includes things like passports, lease agreements, utility documents, and anything else you’ll need quick access to.
Group Similar Items Together
Even on moving day, a little organisation helps. Keeping items from the same room grouped together makes loading more logical and unpacking much faster. If boxes are labelled clearly, the team can place them directly in the right room at your new property – saving you a lot of effort later.
Stay Available
It helps to have someone on hand throughout the move who can answer questions, direct the team, and make any decisions that come up. If something needs clarifying – where a piece of furniture should go, whether a box is fragile – being available means things keep moving without unnecessary delays.
